Surfset Fitness: all the benefits of the Surf without leaving the gym


What do surfing and Fitness have in common? The Surfset Fitness. This new discipline of exercise has been popularized in American gyms and other countries, and now comes to Spain. Forget the typical images of people plying the waves: now surfing is practiced in the gym and without sea water.

Surfset Fitness is like surfing but without having to go to the beach to practice it. We can continue this practice throughout the year without depending on weather or the State of the waves of the sea. Balance is key to the Surfset Fitness: must check for the stability of our body on the table at all times, thus strengthening muscles and limbs. The classes take place in the Group and often accompanied by music.

Working with the weight of the body and the balance of this on the table, creating postures and movements to strengthen our whole body. Tables present balls below that mimic the feeling and position on the waves, to provide benefits more akin to surfing. On the table you can practice all kinds of exercises, ranging from the squats and abdominals to more relaxing as yoga or tai-chi exercises.

The Surfset was invented few years ago, when a former American Hockey player wanted to try surfing at home, but without having to go to the beach. It already now has classes around the world, even in Spanish gyms. This discipline provides all the benefits of the Surf but without having to go to the beach to practice it. In addition, we can even practice other exercises on the table to strengthen the musculature or eliminate the concentrated fat.
